When did you start working at Great Northern Bicycle Company?

I started working at GNBC in June of 2020. 

What are you best known for around the shop?

No matter what is going on, I’m probably good for a joke or a pun.

Why Bikes?

I have always enjoyed getting outdoors however possible. With bicycles, I can get out further and experience even more cool stuff. Plus, what’s more fun than riding with a bunch of your friends followed by some tacos and drinks!?

What was your first bicycle and what do you remember about it?

My first bike was some sort of twelve inch bike with training wheels. I thought it would be a great idea to try to ride it down one of the big hills on our dirt bike track. Needless to say, the training wheels caught onto the ground and proceeded to catapult me down the hill. Great introduction to bikes!

What is your favorite local bike ride?

If it can be referred to as “local”, my favorite bike ride would be a full lap of Mountain View followed by all the trails at Detroit Mountain. This ride can only logically end up at either Long Bridge or Lakeside Tavern.

What is the coolest place your bike has taken you?

This last October (2020) I was able to travel to Moab, Utah. It was an amazing road trip with four days of the best riding I have ever experienced. The scenery, atmosphere, and culture in the town and campsites is something really refreshing. The highlight has to be all of the big drops and super fast downhill I was able to do. 

What is on the horizon?  Describe your next great cycling adventure.

This year (2021) is going to be interesting with various travel restrictions. Ideally I will be able to go ride in British Columbia (Whistler, Pemberton, Vancouver Island). If that is not a feasible option, I want to ride all of the various trail networks/trails within a days drive. There are a lot of trails within a days drive that can be fun with the right people along.  

Favorite shop tool?

My favorite tool would be the Espresso Machine because without it, I wouldn’t be able to function. 

What is your favorite kind of pizza?

The title of favorite pizza would be tied between taco pizza and Hawaiian (pineapple belongs on pizza).
